Description
System of plazas and paths connects the separate buildings; vertical point access, one unit per floor; interior stairwell; stairwells lit by windows; elevator opens directly into apartments.
The apartments face all sides, and the bathrooms and kitchens receive natural light and ventilation. The apartments are arranged so that the functional rooms (kitchen, bathroom, toilet, ancillary room) are self-contained cores that articulate the space of the open living areas. Articulated in this way, this area can, on the one hand, be subdivided into rooms or living areas by means of large sliding doors or, on the other hand, seen as a continuous space.
Loggias, roof terraces. Because the loggias are arranged differently, facing east, south, and west, each of the apartments is lent a distinct accent. The loggias are conceived as narrow projecting “outdoor spaces.”
The massive outer shell of concrete poured on site runs around the entire volume of the building and the projecting parts of the loggias. The large window openings and the apertures in the window breasts perforate the facade and cause the facade to oscillate between wall and opening. The differences in the coloration of the volumes reinforce their individualization but at the same time emphasize their context within a composition.
