Description
Entrance halls connect street side and courtyard side; vertical point access, two units per floor; interior stairwell; stairwells lit by windows.
Following an entrance area with a coat closet and toilet, the living spaces develop across the full depth of the building, oriented toward two sides, with views of the sea and the courtyard. Both the kitchen units and the bathrooms are located along the facade and receive direct light and natural ventilation. More than half of the apartments are designed as maisonettes; the large apartment, located at the corners, have four levels. Straight stairways with spacious gallery spaces in the living area provide access to the upper levels with the individual rooms.
Roof terraces, some of which are enclosed on four sides; French balconies.
This massive block with bright plaster has a delicately detailed, stony base and has a distinct orientation toward the sea on both the southern and eastern sides. Openings of varied sizes and proportions lend a rhythm, both vertically and horizontally, to the facades and allude to the various activities in the interiors behind them. Most of the windows are flush with the front edge of the facades, so when seen in perspective the highly perforated surface closes up to form a homogeneous skin.
