Description
Entrance halls and access corridors connect the individual building volumes; vertical point access, two to four units per floor; interior stairwell; stairwells lit by windows. The ensemble of buildings features meticulously designed transitions between public, semipublic, and private areas.
Spatial jigsaw puzzle consisting of a combination of slanting spatial axes and various types and sizes of apartment extending across multiple floors.
Most of the individual apartments are two-story. Groups of three apartments form a subunit and are dovetailed diagonally. As a result of this plan, most of the apartments are open to three or even four sides.
Loggias and slightly indented balconies; roof terraces on the upper floors; common green area in the courtyard.
The interlocking of the units is the basic concept of the design. In fact, the facades facing the shared courtyard reflect the imprint of the interior structures. The partition walls in the units are projected outward as slabs and alternate with closed wall surfaces on the plastered facade. The projections and recessions of the facade are designed in various ways as outdoor spaces for the apartments. On the north side, the plaster shell is closed off, perforated only by narrow window slits.
