Description
Access:
Comb structure of rows of apartments and access corridors, bracketed to form an overall structure; external access galleries separated from the apartments; external stairwells between the rows of apartments.
Interior space:
The apartments are 10.5 meters deep, with an open living/dining area that is organized along the entire depth and faces both the access gallery and the courtyard on the other side of the rows, which is quieter. The kitchen units function like built-in furniture in that they structure the living space into various living areas. The open zone for daytime contrasts with the closed area for nighttime. Between the individual rooms is a bathroom and separate toilet and a short access corridor.
Exterior space:
Private terraces; external access gallery expands to form semiprivate outdoor spaces: “stacked community garden.”
Morphology:
The building volumes, which are based on the small-scale buildings of the surroundings and arranged perpendicular to the main traffic street, are spanned by bridges to which the access bridges are connected. This system makes it possible to have front gardens, terraces, and green outdoor spaces on every floor. The apartments are located in a vertical urban green space. The access to the heavily trafficked main road is a glass-covered brackets of connecting corridors, stairs, and elevators, which helps meet the requirements for protecting against noise.
