The development maintains existing density of vicinity. Access through a clear network of footpaths, partly covered alleyways leading through the buildings. There is no public greenspace, all open spaces belong to individual houses. In the interior of the houses, zones rather than fixed layout: the zones result from different levels, the placement of stairs, the kitchens, the sanitary cores, the double-height light wells. This enabled clients to vary their own plans.
For instance, type a : a flowing transition from public to private. Entrance from the alley between the ground floor and the studio space (or expansion space for later construction). High light well protrudes, entrance is stepped back. Ground floor, a few steps higher: arched wall panel (closet) leads to the kitchen in the living room or to the glazed double-height light well (dining area). Return stairs to upper floor, which spans the alley. Grouping around the light well: on one side the spacious bedroom hallway, two bedrooms, shower/bath; on the other side, a few steps up, the second bath, a round form in the plan, divides two further bedrooms from one another. Separate toilet. The double-height covered porch leads to the garden.
